About
The CK5 Story...
In the spring of 1999 I was looking for a full-size 4x4 that could do everything from camping trips to 4x4 excursions to hauling whatever I could fit in the back to reliable daily driver. After looking over several makes and models, I kept coming back to the Chevy K5 Blazer, it just offered everything I was looking for.
After purchasing a very clean and mostly stock used 1990 K5 I soon realized that there were Jeep resources everywhere including online but really nothing to speak of for my, new to me Blazer. I decided that I needed to change that, so in the spring of 1999 CK5 was born. CK5 started out as a tribute to America's favorite 4x4 utility truck. Since then it has grown to be a leader among full size Chevrolet K5 Blazer and GMC Jimmy web sites across the Internet and has since expanded to include the C/K series GM Truck and Suburban as well as past and present GM models.
Well, we turned 20 years old in 2019! That’s older than MySpace, older than Facebook, maybe even older than a few of you! Seems like just yesterday it was a one page site with just a few pictures of a near stock K5 Blazer. Many vehicle buildups and friendships have developed over the years shaping the core of today’s CK5 community.
As was the case when I first started the CK5 community all those years ago, I quickly noticed a trend. Most of the Blazer/Truck/Suburban apparel I came across was either not up to par or geared toward the lowered C10 crowd, which is fine but I had higher expectations... as in lifted four wheel drive expectations. I wanted a shirt that fit well, looked cool and started conversations at local off-roading events. So I thought why not design and sell apparel myself, so shop.ck5.com was born. If you love Blazer’s, Jimmy’s, Trucks and Suburban’s as much as I do I'm sure you will love our Chevy K5 Blazer, Truck and Suburban inspired apparel.
